In May 2020 DCR was offered an FM license by OFCOM, thats right, just as the global pandemic kicked in.
Fortunately we know some clever people and we’ve carried on broadcasting online all the while raising funds and working toward a target FM launch in Spring 2022.
Our target area is centre on the town of Dover and covers from Hawkinge to Shepherdswell, from Betteshanger to Kingsdown, but of course we’ll still be on the web so you’ll be able to hear us anywhere in the world, they even used to listen to us in the International Space Station .. true!
Staffed by volunteers, many of whom have years of experience within the radio industry DCR provides an opportunity for anyone of any age and any experience to get involved.
A radio station needs a lot more than presenters even if you can only spare an hour or two a week theres a role for you and the more people involved the better the station becomes. We are currently looking for show presenters, people to write local news stories, help with fundraising, help with marketing, IT and sound technicians.
